The Library and Me
The Library is a wonderful place.

In my village, there's a busy, well-equipped library because of the tax payers and involvement from the community. Actually, Scoop Du Jour, the local coffee shop and ice cream parlor, and the public library were the hotspots of the town.
The library featured something for everyone in the community.

The Library is a 3rd Space

People in small towns need things to go out and do with friends or by themselves. The library provided that 3rd space for the community.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the term, the 3rd space is the social place - somewhere besides work or home.
Students living in a small town are always looking for something to do with friends or by themselves. They also need a space away from family members. I recall my friends had a hard time concentrating on schoolwork because of their chaotic younger siblings.
When the Library Became my Ally

I have ADHD and maybe approaching self-actualization of depression, and that's not causation or correlation, but instead of being distracted by the fun, comfy places in my house, the library is more efficient.
It also saves a pretty penny - because it's not a requirement to spend money there like purchasing a coffee at the coffee shop.
Otherwise, it's basically purchasing a study space of upwards $3.00 to $6.00 depending on a coffee or a latte.
The library is also great because I don't feel guilty or anxious there.
At a coffee shop, I feel like my visit should basically be in-out or that people look at me weirdly for not sitting with anyone - maybe they all think I'm lazy just watching Netflix or taking up space.
Ah, my friends.
People at the library just assume you're working.
